In 2006, six companies belonging to the the Industrial Association of Como (Italy), with more than 200 years’ experience in textile, decided to join up and invest together in a printing factory in china, to answer to the challenge of the globalisation and get opportunities from the opening of the world trade.
“Albachiara” is the name they decided to give to their new adventure in far east: a bright sunrise must bring new course to their companies.
Coming from the very well known silky area of Como, they decided to invest in Jiaxing (Zhejiang) right at the core of the most important and fast developing textile area in the world.
Connecting Italian printing knowhow and creativity with Chinese working art, Albachiara represents a unique island of Italian textile printing manufacturing in China.

The company can provide to its customers a wide range of products and services: its ability to coordinate stories across different fabric compositions like synthetic and natural fabrics and its ability to vary across different range of printing techniques, represents an original and almost unique case in China.
Almost all fabric families are printed in Albachiara: from synthetic fabrics like polyester/elastane, nylon/elastane up to natural fibres like silk, cotton, viscose, etc. We utilise the following families of colours: acid, reactive, disperse and pigment. Our services also include other so called “special effects” like glitter, foil and special paste prints, etc.
The customers can therefore find an ideal place where to build their stories: synthetic swimwear fabrics can be coordinated with silk pareos, nylon corsetry designs can be coordinated with nightwear silk or fine cotton; flexible solutions are engineered by our designers and technicians to provide coordinated images across customer collections.
Focus of our activity is in the functional fabrics for swimwear, sports active wear and fashion. Our customers are European, American, Asian retailers and brands who usually “nominate” Albachiara as their first choice printing mill. Chinese high-end brands are also utilising Albachiara for their printed collections.
